One hand roll
From KayakWiki
Described for capsizing to the left.
- Set up for roll with right hand across body as if for normal hand roll.
- Hold onto right buoyancy aid strap with left hand just to prove to any disbelievers that it is a one handed roll.
- Body should be neutral or slightly forward.
- Capsize to left.
- Throw right hand across body and apply strong hipflick.
- Lean back on way up to reduce water resistance and add to the flick.
- If you're finding that you can't quite make it: try letting go of strap with left hand and throwing it across the boat on way up to help balance the boat.
