The Republic of Mexico boasts some of the finest kayaking - rivers, lakes and ocean - in the world. The best known areas are the Sea of Cortes (technically the "Gulf of California") and the Yucatan Peninsula for sea kayaking and numerous white-water rivers throughout the country. Although some areas are well-known, much of the paddling in Mexico is little known outside of small groups of dedicated specialists. However, this means that a sense of high adventure accompanies trips down even modest rivers and coastlines.
Because there are such a variety paddling venues in Mexico, we simply list specific areas/rivers below. Please feel free to add to this dynamic list using the appropriate template or appropriate links.
