Hydrostatics

Hydro - Water, Static - Not Moving: The properties of a boat and how it interacts with the water when the boat is stationary. Even though these are properties of the boat when it in not moving, they relate to performance of boat in motion because they are the basis for all the interaction between the boat and the water.
