[edit] Editing

It's very easy to edit a Wiki page. Simply click on the Edit tab at the top of the page. This will bring you to a page with an editable text area containing the text of the Wiki page. Then type away, and press "Save page" when finished! You can also preview your changes before saving if you like.

That's all you need to know to start editing pages and contributing to kayakwiki. However there are some more tricks - e.g. how to do bold and italic text effects. These are performed by highlighting the text and clicking on the suitable button above the editing area. If you know the format standards, you can type them directly.

The format standards for MediaWiki are available in a number of places. Here's a recommended one: Wikipedia's Editing Help Page.

Note: While the editing help page shows TeΧ as a means of writing mathematical equations. TeΧ is not implemented on KayakWiki.

You may want to keep the Wikipedia Help page open in a separate browser window for reference. If you want to try out editing a page without danger of doing any harm, go to the Rolling Pool.
