Eskimo rescue

From KayakWiki

A technique to right a capsized paddler without the kayaker having to perform a roll or a wet exit.

The eskimo rescue comes in two flavors: the bow presentation or paddle presentation rescue. In both cases, the rescuee is hanging in the water upside down and holding his or her breath while a quick-acting partner approaches and provides a platform for the rescuee to use in righting him or her self. This platform is the bow of the rescuer's boat for the bow presentation rescue or a paddle layed across the two boats for the paddle presentation rescue.
